| Q.
Why use electric underfloor heating?
A. It provides a total and effective solution to room heating
by being non intrusive, clean and silent in operation. The
comfort of this type of heating is superior to any other system
particularly when fitted under ceramic tiles, natural stone
or marble floors.

Q. Why is underfloor
heating superior to any type of radiators?
A. Radiators produce high temperatures in the immediate vicinity
and lower temperatures at a distance. Also much of the heat
given by a radiator is by convection resulting in higher temperatures
at ceiling level and much lower temperatures at floor level,
i.e. completely opposite to the ideal. Air currents are produced
which cause discomfort and movement of dust. Floor heating
mostly produces radiant heat. This results in a very even
and stable room temperature giving a comfort level that is
superior to any alternative type of heating.

Q. How does
the system operate?
A. The operation of electric underfloor heating is totally
different to conventional radiator systems. Unlike conventional
heating systems which turn on & off by a timer, the electric
underfloor system does not operate in this manner. The heat
is stored in the mass of the floor and once the floor is up
to temperature the thermostat will maintain the heat in the
floor and keep the perfect room temperature. It is wasteful
and extremely inefficient to attempt to operate electric underfloor
heating in the same
manner as conventional hot water radiator systems.

Q. What about
energy efficiency?
A. Wall mounted heaters loose heat through the adjacent wall,
whereas the losses from underfloor systems are much lower.
Virtually all of the energy given out by electric underfloor
heating is used to heat the room.

Q. Is it expensive
to run?
A. No. With the advent of ever more accurate and reliable
electronic components the control of electric underfloor heating
is superb. This, allied to current levels of building insulation
makes electric underfloor heating a very cost effective solution.
